These modules are for TA students who have completed 2 years of TA training as well as students who have a core model in another humanistic and integrative approach such as Person Centred or Gestalt. Working from a core model the student will construct a unique blend of their core model with other systems that training at Elan provides them with. In the end every humanistic and integrative psychotherapist is different utilising what works with their core model and what blends with their values. They integrate into their practice a unique synthesis of what they consider to be effective psycho-therapeutic approaches.
Who for: TA students who have completed 240 hours of TA training, those working in the helping professions and wishing to enhance their therapeutic skills, those with at least two years of recognised professional psychotherapy training and/or a Diploma in Counselling, those who wish to become registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy either as a Transactional Analyst or an Integrative Psychotherapist, and finally those students who wish to be accredited with BACP. ( The training hours of this module can be counted towards these various accrediting bodies course hour requirements.)
Contents: This module is designed to provide students with an in depth way of understanding of psychopathology. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, PTSTD, psychosis and personality disorder. The module aims to equip students to understand psychopathology, to critique the ideas of diagnosis and assessment, to recognise psychotic and disordered states and to have ways of intervening that emphasise effectiveness and well-being. Particular emphasis will be placed on recognising and utilising transferential and counter transferential responses.
Modules: This is a 2 year, 10 two day highly participative modules. The first year covers diagnosis and treatment of psychopathologies. The second year covers the Therapeutic Relationship from many diverse perspectives.
Trainers: A number of highly experienced trainers and practitioners participate in the teaching of this course.
Payment of Fees: Students can pay course fees in a variety of ways: from a lump sum at the beginning of the course, to 12 monthly payments and anything in between. On attending the course students are liable for the full course fees.
